European Centre for AI in Schools
The European Centre for AI in Schools is an independent non-profit foundation advancing the safe, responsible and effective use of AI in education. We bridge the gap between strategy and practice, helping schools and education systems turn the challenges of AI adoption into clear, actionable pathways through our AI Education Framework.
AI Education Framework
AI Education Framework
AI readiness is not achieved through a single policy, training programme or technology. The AI Education Framework provides a structured pathway for schools and education systems to build the knowledge, governance, practices and curricula needed to use artificial intelligence responsibly and effectively.
LEVEL 01
Develop the foundational understanding of artificial intelligence, its opportunities, limitations and risks including ethics, data protection and the principles of responsible use.
LEVEL 02
Establish the policies, procedures and governance needed to use AI in line with regulatory requirements, safety standards and the responsibilities of educational institutions.
LEVEL 03
Support educators and school communities in applying AI effectively across teaching, learning, communication, administration and the organisation of everyday school life.
LEVEL 04
Develop systematic approaches to teaching about AI and using AI to support learning across subjects, creating the foundations for curricula designed for an AI-enabled world.
