The European Centre for AI in Schools is an independent non-profit foundation working to ensure that artificial intelligence is introduced into education safely, responsibly and effectively.
We bridge the gap between rapidly evolving technology, European policy and the realities of education. By bringing together expertise from education, research, law, technology and public policy, we develop practical frameworks, standards and initiatives that help schools and education systems prepare for the age of AI.

We translate emerging research, regulatory requirements and international recommendations into practical standards, educational programmes and implementation models that can be applied across schools and education systems.
Our statutory objectives focus on developing knowledge, methodologies and solutions that strengthen AI literacy, support regulatory compliance, enable responsible use of AI in educational practice and contribute to the long-term development of education in the age of artificial intelligence.

Governance
The Foundation is built on a governance model designed to combine strategic oversight, operational leadership and multidisciplinary expertise. Its governing and advisory bodies bring together professionals from education, artificial intelligence, law, data protection, child safety, digital pedagogy and public policy.
Together, they safeguard the Foundation’s independence, guide its strategic direction and ensure that its work reflects both the realities of education and the evolving technological and regulatory landscape.
European Advisory Council
An international advisory body bringing together experts from across Europe to provide strategic perspectives on the responsible integration of AI into education.
Foundation Council
The supervisory body responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s strategic development, organisational governance, partnerships and financial sustainability.
Management Board
The executive body responsible for leading the Foundation’s operations, implementing its strategy and coordinating its programmes, partnerships and institutional activities.
Expert Council
A multidisciplinary body contributing specialist knowledge and practical expertise to the development of the Foundation’s standards, programmes, publications and initiatives.
